I was relieved that on the day of the Drive - in the weather was kind, and as I write it seems set fair for a few more days. If the number of vehicles in the car park is a guide, members are making the most of the conditions.
I would like to thank Brian and the green staff for their efforts, who despite the weather leading up to the Drive- in and the heavy rain the night before, the course was in very good condition, thank you.
The first events of our Competitions have been and gone, congratulations to the winners and commiserations to those who were unsuccessful, there are many more opportunities to add your name to the winners list throughout the summer.
Team Competitions are due to start in earnest in the next few weeks, can I wish all teams every success in the forthcoming matches.
The first of the Open Days is scheduled for the 28th June (Seniors) be sure to book your tee times with the Secretary.
The Social Calendar kicked off with a Full clubhouse on the night of the Drive In however there was a minor panic when the artist was delayed due to a motorway diversion, he did arrive eventually and it was well worth the wait.
Can I thank all those who contributed in making the evening go so well! These events don't just happen, a number of people worked very hard for the event to be successful. Particularly Paul, Judith (I did not believe it when saw her in the kitchen at one stage, having left hospital only the day before!) and their staff, the Ladies of the Social Committee and the MC (your Vice-Captain).
There are a number of events planned throughout the year starting with next Social on the 24th of April so get your tickets early from Paul to avoid disappointment. I understand that tickets were in short supply for the Drive-in night.
I will update this report periodically throughout the year to highlight any special events not already mentioned elsewhere on this site!
