The morning of the drive in didn't bode well. 1030 and it was still raining! Then within a few minutes the cloud lightened and the sun started to shine. What a relief! All the work would not be in vain after all. What work you may ask?
First of all the preparation by Brian Roberts our Head Green keeper and his staff, Steve, Shaun and Ryan. Thank you for presenting the course in such good condition.
Then there's our Secretary/Manger, Les Dodd and Handicap/ Competition Secretary Alan (Archie) Smith. Many thanks for the smooth organisation and running of the drive in competition.
Hunger pangs and thirst were kept at bay by our Steward Paul Evans and his wife Judy. I think everybody enjoyed the food as there was none left at the end of the day! Thank you.
To the ladies, Lady Captain Lyn Morgan, Jan Watkins, Ann Bridges and my wife Val, thank you for the superb room and floral decoration. My thanks also go to Bill Watkins and Terry Morgan for their invaluable contribution.
And of course a big thank you to all the members and friends who turned up to support the drive in.
The Captains social, the first social occasion of the new golf year, followed in the evening and was very well supported. The deadly duo, Jan Bowen and Andrea Miller were on hand ensuring everybody had the opportunity to buy raffle tickets. Thank you ladies. Thank you also to the social committee for organising the evening.
Club competitions start this Saturday with the Hubert Watkins Cup and Addawint Qualifier on Saturday 9th April. The ladies competitions started on Sunday 3rd April

Good Luck to all our teams.
The Junior Captains Drive In takes place on Sunday 17th April. Please give them your support.
Besides a well populated golf calendar social events have been organised throughout the year. Don't forget to book your tickets in plenty of time or you may miss out. All golf and social events are shown in your fixture list and on the website.
Finally we need to improve on membership numbers. Don't forget there's a reward for each new member you introduce. Go out there and promote your club.
Enjoy your golf, enjoy fellowship, but most of all enjoy life.
